It has some neat stuff like carbon fiber seats for $7,600, $20,200 carbon fiber engine cover - even the paint, called Azzurro Monaco, with the Silverstone roof adding is worth almost $18,000.
Luckily he spent $780 on a fire extinguisher (wise move!) so his over 400,000 dollar car doesn't volatilize. Or at least he could try to prevent it.

Okay, there are some very ridiculous prices and bits on this, but £800 for a little badge of the italian flag? What is this badge made of?
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:28 |

I know right? It's just madness... Those damn Italians.
(ps. it's £, not lbs)

My £ key wasn't working. I improvised!
And the weirdest thing is while listening to all this, hearing "xxxx trim, £900" makes you think "oh, that's reasonable".

The diffuser seems like a bargain.

It's made out of unemployed Italians - sort of the Soylent Green of badges.

656£ for cruise control! What car does not come with cruise control?
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:40 |

Hahahah I felt exactly the same!

I can think of so many more worthwhile — and more tasteful — things to spend my money on. Mind you, in the world of supercars, this isn't exactly tasteless, but in the actual world, where normal people live and work, it's pretty tasteless.
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:43 |

Nah, can't be. If it was it would be cheap.

Can't watch. Audio quality is shit.

I like how even the gps in a car that expensive still looks cheap and shitty...

Is there some sort of cost + markup methodology to this pricing, or do they just invite random Ferrari employees to "come on down" and pick a handful of numbers out of a bag and arrange them while other employees yell numbers at them like a Price is Right game?

Excellent volume variation on the audio. Bravo, chaps.

For that kind of money, you'd think they could buy an Italian bug remover for the front bumper...

Wow...I would have been almost positive a car that costs that much would have come with navigation and cruise control. 596 pounds for an ipod connector? Are you shitting me?
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:48 |

Most cars in the UK, not much opportunity to use it here.

Who do they think they are, Porsche?
08/23/2013 at 10:49 |

So, you could buy a 458, add all of that, presumably to make it more unique? Or, avoid the plebeian 458 and buy an arguably more uncommon F12, for less money?
To have those problems.

The fire extinguisher is the most worthwhile option listed.

Someone needs to test this claim—there IS a configurator, BTW: http://www.ferrari.com/english/gt_spo…

780 Dollar? That's cheap for a Ferrari fire extinguisher....must be fake.^^

I'm glad the nav is optional. This is a collectible car, who wants it full of outdated "infotainment" tech in 15 or even 5 years? I'd probably pay for a bitchin' paint color and the leather interior bits. But otherwise, keep it as simple as possible.

I hope you also noted its the old ipod connector that's being phased out....

I stand corrected then, I mean I never use mine but I have it.

My favorite is the iPod Connector. it costs $900!!! it should cost $90
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:53 |

Firstly this is a press car (FNE plate gives that away) designed to show off the opinions available. Secondly while I would pass on the unnecessary bling if I was speccing a new Ferrari, I would rather Ferrari increased their profit margins and, their resulting R&D spend, this way rather than say platforming sharing an SUV and sticking Ferrari badges on it like a certain manufacturer from Germany.
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:55 |

Probably not, considering that you can get a similar one for 40 bucks. Or maybe Ferrari fires burn hotter and with more passion...
H ere's one fire extinguisher for 39.97.
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:55 |

$90 would still be an absurd. It's not even nicely done or anything, it's just a cable hanging there. I would at least expect some sort of docking or place to fit the iPod/iPhone properly.

I used to really love Ferraris and desire to own one, but I have come to the conclusion that they are cars for dumbasses. The options pricing is just ridiculous, Porsche as well. Coupled that with the fact that people who buy them never drive them just makes them a total waste.
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:56 |
|
Or just buy 2 different Ferraris without the useless stuff like 600 buck Italia flags!

Yellow Cabin Stitching : 297£ !

The paint isn't worth $18,000, it costs $18,000.
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:58 |

My same thought, for that kind of money I'd expect cruise control. To me that's like charging extra for the heater core...
![]() 08/23/2013 at 10:59 |
|
This is pretty much what I do every time I go play around with the Ferrari Builder on their site, only I do it with the F12. Of course, if you have to ask you can't afford it (Which I certainly cannot), so they do not say what it would wind up costing. I am certain it is staggering though.
![]() 08/23/2013 at 11:04 |

It still sounds to cheap to be a Ferrari option....maybe it just just a generic brand fire extinguisher and the whale penis-leather-wrapped and Ferrari-badged real deal is two grand plus.^^
![]() 08/23/2013 at 11:11 |

Built in nav systems still aren't terribly popular, especially with people who have more than one car. Even if you can buy a Ferrari, you're still likely to feel it's a waste to have satnav in each car.
No idea about the cruise control, except maybe Ferrari want to penalise anyone who thinks a Ferrari should have it.

Few things, Ferrari:
1. Why the strange discrepancy of what costs what? The carbon fiber engine bits cost £13k, while sports exhaust costs only £432 (probably just the tips, but still). Kick panels in doors are £1138, while inner air vent color costs £2000. What's the rationale behind the price.
2. Really, Ferrari? This is the icon for your car's suspension lift system? Really?? Porsche and Pagani make keyfobs shaped like the actual car. You couldn't make a drawn silhouette outline for the icon on a button??
